Okay...we all gotta have a few up our sleeves. >
Here are the stuff that pops into our heads that's false and has something to do with Redwall, we giggle at, and then put it away for safe-keeping. Here's mine:
1. The Vermin hordes that attack Redwall aren't actually the bad guys. Salamandastron and Redwall Abbey our actually places of evil, vile stuff! The beasts that live there just made up those tales that we read to glorify themselves and to demonize the Vermin. (I got this idea while reading Salamandastron because I got temporarily mad at Urthstripe and his hares for being racist.)
2. Everyone presumes that Matthias had died of old age. But ACTUALLY, one of the rats from Cluny's horde had escaped, and had trained himself to be an assassin. So, fifteen seasons after Slagar captured the Abbey's young ones (see Mattimeo), the rat came in the dead of night inside the Abbey, and over to the Gatehouse where Matthias and Cornflower lived (Mattimeo had probably moved out by then), so he killed Matthias in his sleep, and kidnapped Cornflower. A season later the rat released Cornflower and she came back to the Abbey, only this time insane and constantly afraid that one of her fellow Abbeybeasts were going to kill/kidnap her. Not that I don't like Matthias and Cornflower, but hey. *shrug*
