A swampy terrain filled with evil-smelling liquid and gases, covered by short hillgrass, and populated by myriads of insects, including grasshoppers and flies. The climate around the marshes is usually misty and foggy and the atmosphere is generally gloomy and unhealthy.

This region has never known war, thanks in part to the efforts of its residents in keeping its exact location secret from outsiders. In some ways Noonvale holds similarities to Mossflower Woods. Its inhabitants are dedicated to peace and community.

Cold and desolate, and are home to all sorts of birds, ranging from Golden Eagles such as the Wild King MacPhearsome to great red kites, like Stryk and Skine; falcons, like Rocangus and his father, Laird Mactalon; and large owls. Mountain hares, like Bucko Bigbones live there too. Many vermin have came from there as well, including the wildcats Verdauga Greeneyes and Ungatt Trunn. The Northern Mountains are also the only place where you can find the Flowers of Icetor.

A place of peace and harmony which has never known war. The woodlands are characterized by its quiet, cool, and inviting surroundings. The forest is populated by ancient lush trees with abundant foliage, and covered with a thick layer of moss and flowers.

Terramort Isle was located in the far northwestern sea. It was the home of Gabool the Wild and his corsairs, as well as the location of Fort Bladegirt. A particularly unique feature of the island was the fact that it was crisscrossed by hundreds of tunnels, a characteristic utilized by the Trag. It was presumably fully abandoned after the defeat of Gabool and his searat army, with Bladegirt being gutted by Trag and Rawnblade Widestripe.
